My sewing projects focus on scraps, secondhand fabric, and unusual shapes.
My Reflecting Pools project includes two quilts with rounded, overlapping, squirmy shapes: one in shades of pink, one in shades of blue. Though they feature the same motif, the different color schemes give each quilt a very different feeling.
When I put together a commissioned Memory Quilt, I learned how to work on projects with sentimental value and emotional weight.
My Greener Pastures jacket was a response to uncertainty and change during a transitional period of my life. I hoped to channel wide open skies and meadows, so I used shades of blue for the patchwork and cloud shapes for the quilting. I also created an appliqué meadow scene on the back of the jacket.
